WHAT THEY DID IN 1963

On August 28, 1963, arriving in Washington, D.C. by car, bus, plane, and train from all over the country, an estimated 250,000 people attended the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

WHAT YOU CAN DO IN 2023

We are asking that, on August 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM (EST) (which is the time that Dr. King began delivering his speech) that you spend the following sixty minutes

SIGN THE PLEDGE

You can begin the first few minutes of the 60 Minutes of Peace campaign is by signing the very same pledge card that Dr. King and hundreds of thousands others signed in 1968.

ORGANIZE AND/OR JOIN A PEACEFUL MARCH/PROTEST/VIGIL

If you’ve signed the pledge card you’ve seen that it says that you support “…all non-violent protest, peaceful assembly, and petition.”

MEDIATE A CONFLICT OR COMMIT TO MENDING A RELATIONSHIP

A recent study concluded that far more people were killed by people they knew than by strangers.
