REGISTER FAMILY & MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY TO VOTE & TO SERVE ON A JURY
The ‘63 March on Washington was so much more than a peaceful demonstration. It was the impetus to the enactment of several key congressional and presidential actions that followed the March – including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968.
Hopefully, you’ve signed The Pledge which indicates that you will further the cause of those important enactments by voting and using “the courts and the legislative process” to bring about additional change in our country, your state, and especially within your own community.
In order to do that, you don’t need to get elected and go to Washington D.C. On August 28, 2023, at 3:00 PM (EST) simply take the time to go on down to your local board of election and register to vote. While you are there, also go to your courthouse and register to volunteer for jury duty.
If you’re already registered to vote and signed up for jury duty, organize a get out the vote or jury service sign up effort for August 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM (EST) at an area mall/shopping center or other area where there is a lot of people passing through who might not be registered to vote or to serve on a jury.
As we all know, just one vote on a jury or in an election, can make a world of difference in your life, the life of another, and throughout our nation.
